Our staff take observations during the week to assess the children’s learning and development, that correlate to their formative and summative assessments. It captures evidence from pictures taken of the children in their learning environment and written observations. It is then posted on to the parent’s portal, where it can be viewed. You can also log on and send us pictures and observations too. This can help us further in your child’s learning and development. Since the changes made to the Early Years Foundation Stage in September 2021, we have cut back on the number of images and observations shared on to the Famly app. As we hope you appreciate our priority is to spend time interacting with the children, in order to further the children’s learning and development, rather than blocking their learning with an Ipad. During these early stages of life, we recognise the importance of working on a child’s prime areas of learning. We want to equip our babies with the ability to build strong bonds and attachments with others, to set them up for future success. We will provide an environment where the babies can explore their senses, engage in songs, rhymes and various styles of music. We also aim to provide a warm, affectionate, and emotionally safe environment for the babies to learn and develop through repetitive play. By age two, we seek for our babies to have formed secure attachments with their familiar adults and to be able to play alongside their peers, using the adults for emotional re-fuelling, as and when needed.
