Health & Well-Being of Children
Children's health and well-being
At My Little Stars Nursery School the children’s health and well-being is of utmost importance to us. We believe the first few years of a child’s life lays the foundations for a person’s long-term development. The period in a child’s life before they start school, is an opportunity for children and their families to adopt a positive attitude to their health and wellbeing. We promote a healthy environment, ensuring the children are safe, well-nourished, learn and play actively
, by creating an environment that helps build the social and emotional well being of the children, families and staff.
Our Early Years Educators
play an increasing role in sharing the care of young children with their parents. My Little Stars Nursery School is a place where children (and adults) are valued and
are encouraged to enjoy being themselves and to make healthy choices.
Children
Becoming ill
at Nursery
When children start to mix with others at a young age and within a childcare environment it is very common for them to pick up common childhood illnesses. This may be due to the following reasons:
Undeveloped Immune System
Children playing in close proximity of each other
no or incomplete vaccinations
If your child is not well to attend nursery, we ask parents to keep the children at home and only attend nursery when they are well enough and fully recovered. This helps us to stop the spread of infectious illnesses to other children.
Please read below our definition of a child who is well enough to attend nursery;
• A child who is happy and able to take part in nursery life.
• A child who does not have a temperature and hasn’t done within the last 24 hours
• A child who is not dependant on paracetamol
• A child who is not reliant on 1-1 care
