The Famly App

This is a software used by the Nursery to help track the progress and development of your child. Our staff take observations during the week to assess the children’s learning and development, that correlate to their formative and summative assessments. It captures evidence from pictures taken of the children in their learning environment and written observations. It is then posted on to the parent’s portal, where it can be viewed. You can also log on and send us pictures and observations too. This can help us further in your child’s learning and development.

Since the changes made to the Early Years Foundation Stage in September 2021, we have cut back on the number of images and observations shared on to the Famly app. As we hope you appreciate our priority is to spend time interacting with the children, in order to further the children’s learning and development, rather than blocking their learning with an Ipad.

We will however, be able to communicate directly with parents/ carers through the app, if you have any concerns, such as to check how your child has settled that day, etc.

British Values & The Prevent Duty

At My Little Stars Nursery School, we endeavour to support our children through the EYFS by providing playful learning opportunities to help them develop positive diverse and communal identities, as well as their well-being, their empathy and emotional literacy, while continuing to take action to eradicate inequalities, bullying, discrimination, exclusion, aggression and violence; all of which fosters and secures children’s pro- social behaviours and responsible citizenship and real sense of belonging.

At My Little Stars, we support and actively teach children about the importance of British Values. We explain through everyday activities and routine, the following British Values:

The Rule of Law ensuring children understand the need for, and following social rules and expectations.

Democracy about making decisions together. Children should be actively encouraged to express their opinions and value others.

Individual Liberty encouraging children to have a positive view of themselves and celebrating differences.

Mutual Respect & Tolerance for those with different faiths making decisions together.

The children are continuously encouraged to express their opinions and value others.

We encourage parents to have good knowledge of the EYFS 2021. Please select the link below to access this Department for Education Document.
